Is bed linen and towels included?
Yes, all bed linen, bath towels, hand towels and bath mats are provided but please bring your own beach towels.
Do you provide t-towels?
Yes. We also provide an oven glove and apron.
Are all bills included?
Yes, including WI-FI.
We are staying for two weeks. Do we get a change of linen midway through our holiday?
Yes you do, we also clean the cottage for you.
What is in our welcome basket?
Cornish produce that may typically include apple juice, biscuits, crisps, sea salt and honey.
What kitchen facilities are there?
The cottage has a washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher and microwave.
Do you accept pets?
Yes, between October-March inclusive. However, we have a strict ‘doggie contract’ (Click here to view) and make a charge of £30 per week per dog.
Do you provide a cot and high chair?
No. However, there is a local company which you can rent equipment from. You can find their information on www.rainbowhirestives.co.uk.
Where is the parking space?
The complimentary parking space is located in Porthgwidden Car Park, 200 metres from the cottage. A permit will be on the dining room table ready for your arrival. A second space is available at a cost of £35 per week adn is located in a secure newly constructed garage with electric up and over door. The garage is located in Channel View, a 5-10 minute walk from the cottage. The measurements for the garage are 2m high, 6m long and 3m wide. Please note: because of the height restriction it will not be possible to park a car with a roof box in the garage.
Can we smoke in the cottage?
No, the cottage is strictly non-smoking.
Do you provide hairdryers?
Yes, each bedroom has a hairdryer.
Where is the nearest supermarket?
There is a Tesco as you come in to St Ives from Carbis Bay. There is also a small local store in Back Road West. A Marks and Spencer (which has a food department) is located at the Hayle roundabout on the A30 as you approach St Ives. You can also use Tesco’s delivery service, the cottage postcode is TR26 1PF. Please note: for a Tesco delivery please ensure it is booked to be delivered after 4pm when you are there to receive it.
Do you have a garden?
No. Like almost all cottages in the old town of St Ives, there is no garden. However, there is a small (not enclosed) space outside that will fit a couple of deck chairs, these are provided for you.
Do you put up a Christmas tree for your guests?
Yes, a tree with lights and decorations will be in place for Christmas and New Year bookings.
Can we check-in before 4pm?
Not unless we have texted you to say that the cottage is ready early.
Do we need to check out by 10am?
Yes, it takes a long time to clean the cottage and we need the cottage and parking spaces back for 10am.
Why do you take a damage deposit?
A damage deposit is taken in case any extra charges are made. We do not charge for the odd broken glass or cup. However, charges will be made for any damage to the property or its contents, or if any additional cleaning costs are incurred. We ask you to leave the cottage in a clean and tidy condition.
How do I make a booking?
You can make a booking using our online secure booking system. Alternatively you can telephone us. A deposit of one third of your holiday cost is payable to secure a booking or if your holiday commencement date is within two months of your booking then the full payment is required. We accept debit cards (no fee) or credit cards (2% fee).
When is the balance for my holiday due?
The balance is due two months before your holiday commencement date. We will send you an email to remind you and you can pay using the online secure payment form again.
Do you email all correspondence?
Yes, but if you would like written confirmation please ask.
What if I need to cancel my holiday?
Please read our terms and conditions for our cancellation policy. We always recommend that you take out holiday cancellation insurance.
